Prosecutors Friday afternoon said the bodies of the husband and wife – identified as Balaji Rudrawar, 33, and Aarti B. Rudrawar, 31 – were found by police inside their apartment Wednesday evening. A child was also found inside the apartment, but had not been harmed, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Both had suffered from multiple stab wounds, the prosecutor said. Authorities believe Aarti Rudrawar died as a result of stab wounds inflicted by her husband, the prosecutor said. Balaji Ruduawar “also died as a result of multiple stab wounds, but his manner of death is undetermined pending the completion of an autopsy and investigation,” the prosecutor said in a release.

Prosecutors said he also died of multiple stab wounds, but the manner of his death remains “undetermined pending the completion of an autopsy and investigation.” Authorities said, however, that no one else is believed involved. NJ.com reported that the man’s father told the Press Trust of India that the woman was pregnant. Authorities Wednesday declined comment on that report. “My daughter-in-law was seven months pregnant,” Bharat Rudrawar told the news agency. “We had been to their house and were planning another trip to the U.S. to be with them again.”
