The Nigerian Army on Tuesday said a total of 33 suspects were arrested in connection with various crimes within the last week, between 13 to 20 November 2023 in Kaduna and Plateau State. The army said five were arrested for kidnapping, while six were arrested for dealing in arms. Also two for murder, four for railway vandalism and two for farm destruction, while 7 bandits were neutralised.
Troops in charge of maintaining peace in Plateau State on Tuesday said the special military Taskforce has in the past week neutralised seven bandits and arrested 33 others in various operations across the state and parts of neighbouring Kaduna State.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Yola Operations Office, and the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) on Thursday said their team had conducted an assessment tour of the Bakin Kogi River in Jimeta, Adamawa State and found that the water level did not pose any threat. The water level on the River Benue system in Lokoja, Kogi State also dropped overnight, NEMA said on Thursday.
