FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. A Faulkner County man was arrested on Wednesday, March 3 after fleeing from Arkansas State Police Wednesday morning.
The state police attempted to make a traffic stop around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, just south of Conway near Baker Willis Parkway and Sturgis Road.
The driver of vehicle did not pull over, but sped away leading to a police pursuit that ended in the Mayflower area.
A Faulkner County man was arrested Wednesday night after fleeing from Arkansas State Police earlier in the day. Joey James Staley, 38, is expected to be formally charged Thursday.
State police attempted to make a traffic stop about 7:30 Wednesday morning south of Conway near Baker Willis Parkway and Sturgis Road. The driver of the sport utility vehicle did not pull over but sped away leading to a police pursuit that ended in the Mayflower area along Sullivan Road.
During the pursuit, the driver, later identified as Staley, brandished a gun outside the driver’s window and is believed to have attempted to fire the weapon at the pursuing trooper. Staley abandoned the SUV and fled on foot.
