WAPELLO An expansion could be in store for Louisa County’s Virginia Grove Recreation Area.
Sharon Mabeus of Winfield, and her brother, Mark, met July 1 with the Louisa County Conservation Board, with the county board of supervisors also in attendance, and discussed the possible sale of 50 acres she owns to the county.
If the sale ultimately goes through, the acquisition would not only boost the present 106-acre park located northwest of Morning Sun by almost 50%, but would also connect three units of the park that are currently separate.
