Newly-Appointed Leader of Opposition and Social Democratic Liberal Party member Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu says Fiji is facing a debt crisis.
In response to the President’s opening address for the 2020-2021 session of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama said there were better ways to address redundancy than supporting the mass laying off of workers from their jobs and asking them to use their retirement funds so they could fend for themselves.
Ratu Naiqama said he was worried about the comments made by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama that Government would continue to borrow in order to support their stimulus initiatives.
