doesn t run. certainly doesn t run for statewide or national office. if there s a lesson learned, to fit the candidate for the district. conor fit that district. secondly, charlie is right, there was a head wind out there. there s no question that donald trump is creating some problems across this country. i would add one other thing, to point to congress. the signature issue that the republicans ran on that motivated the republican base for the last four elections was to repeal and replace obama. not only did they fail last year doing it, but they ve given up doing it and they re poised here in the next couple weeks to pass a bailout of obamacare. that is a huge deflator of the base. if you look at what happened in this race, everyone talked about it through the entire course, the intensity on the democratic side was 20 points higher than on the republican side. why? because republicans are deflated because republicans aren t delivering on what they said they were going to do, and you
lower coverage numbers and ultimately a democratic push for singer payer medicine. what is the bill going to look like. right now it seems to have gone, some of the people like the woman you heard in the town hall, not repeal and replace but fix what s there. fix what exists essentially. is that feasible? is that the right path? i think it s going to be some combination of repealing the parts of obamacare that don t work and fixing some of the problems the system is facing. some renewed efforts on existing conditions, some renewed efforts on improving coverage number. the original score was pretty bad on that front. i think that s the sort of thing that republicans in the not are working towards to get to a product of 51. ceo of heritage saying republicans banning the repeal pledge. quote, if this switches from repeal of obamacare to a bailout of obamacare, that is catastrophic. if mitch mcconnell moves to work
take away a major new entitlement which has been given so there s debates over social morality and the role of government. what government should be doing and this is like 2009 with president obama. and a big debate and the tea party and the bailout of obamacare. i think the left is awakening in this country and figure out how to challenge trump and i don t buy the idea that it s manufactured. there s a fair amount of organization going on within districts and coming in from the outside and we should do what the right did very effectively at the grass roots going back to 2009. there s so many echos of 2009 as you ll recall then white house press secretary robert gibbs said almost verbatim what
