Fairhope, Orange Beach and Spanish Fort softball clubs advanced to the 2021 AHSAA state championship tournament. In the Class 7A South Regional qualifier, the Pirates shutout Bryant 10-0 and Baker 18-0 for the top South seed slot. Baker advanced as the South runner-up with a 12-4 win over Bryant.
The Pirates’ offense was led by Justice Palmer and Bailey Wiggins with three runs-batted-in each. Bella Wiggins went 5-for-5 and scored four times. Bella Cabral and Aubree Flanagan had two RBI’s each. Bailee Welsh had a double and scored twice.
