When Josefine Eriksen was transferring away from Texas-Rio Grande Valley after the 2021 outdoor track and field season, she saw something special in the University of Utah.
SALT LAKE CITY – The full indoor season officially begins this Saturday, Jan. 15, for the Utah track & field team as they head to Pocatello, Idaho, for the Snake River Open held inside Holt Arena and hosted by Idaho State.

SALT LAKE CITY – The 2021-22 indoor track & field season officially begins for the Utah track & field squad as it heads south down I-15 for the BYU Opener with Delaney Gates kicking things off for Utah on Thursday, Dec. 9, in the long jump while the rest of the team competes on Friday, Dec. 10, inside Smith Fieldhouse.

After recording several top marks and breaking facility records, the Women of Utah look to do the same this week at the Silver State Classic as it sends the sprint squad and middle distance team with a pair of student-athletes competing in field events.
Skyler Blair will make her first appearance in a non-relay race in an outdoor meet for the first time since the spring of 2019 as she competes in the 200m and 400m. Meanwhile, Bailey Kealamakia looks to make it five-straight weeks with a new PR this Saturday as she competes in both the 400m and 400m hurdles. SLC native Annie Murdock will compete in her first 800m race on top of the 400m, which she has normally run. Ruby Jane Mathewson looks to continue to climb the record books after moving up from 10th to T5th all-time in the 100m hurdles last weekend.
