Security of Chinese engineers inspected in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Kamran visited Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park and inspected security of Chinese engineers.
A spokesman for Bahawalpur police said that the IGP had issued directions to further tighten the security of Chinese engineers who had been working at different projects in several areas of the province. “Following the directives of the IGP, the DPO visited the Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park and inspected the security of Chinese engineers,” he said. The spokesman said that the DPO also held a meeting with the officials of Desert Rangers and other law enforcement agencies at the solar park.

CM announces special uplift package for Narowal

LAHORE:Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday announced a special development package of 5.12 billion rupees during his visit to Narowal.
According to a handout issued here, the chief minister laid the foundation stone of three projects under the second phase of the ‘Naya Pakistan Manzalain Asan’ Programme. Talking to the media, the chief minister said the expansion of three roads of 17 kilo metres length had been started with an amount of Rs 230 million.
Similarly, 5.12 billion rupees would be spent on 39 different projects, adding that supply and drainage of water, roads and other projects would be completed in Zafarwal and Shakargarh with Rs 840 million. He said that 1.70 billion rupees would be spent on the construction of 33-kilometres long Narowal-Zafarwal road and Syed Chiragh Shah Bypass. LAHORE:Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that in compliance with directions of the NCOC all vaccination centres will remain closed on Friday, 9 April. She said in order to avoid inconvenience people were being informed. She added that vaccination centres would remain open on Sunday and people can contact 1033 for guidance.
Meanwhile, on the directions of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has established a control room in Mayo Hospital, Lahore to intimate callers or Covid-19 patients about healthcare like beds and ventilators available in 11 major hospitals of the provincial metropolis. This was disclosed by Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan here Thursday while chairing a meeting to review the rising cases of Covid-19 pandemic across the province.
BAHAWALPUR: A pack of dogs killed a minor boy and wounded two others in the suburbs of Chanigoth of tehsil Ahmedpur East on Monday.
According to the police and hospital sources, Areeb (10), the son of a labourer, along with other children was playing near his house at Basti Chak Kahal of Chanigoth town. Suddenly, the boys were attacked by a pack of dogs, which wounded three of them.
Areeb, who had suffered critical wounds, was first taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Ahmedpur East, where the doctors sent him to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH). The boy succumbed to his wounds there.
