it was absolutely the weirdest thing i had ever seen. it was a nightmare. i thought who would ever like this guy? of course the next time i was at the mall i had to stop in at the good vibrations store to c album cover to get a look at that weirdo. two years later i was in high school and i owned all his albums and dressed like him so i could get picked on at school and then i could feel superior to everybody. there were many tributes to david bowie, those who felt like a freak until they discovered him. he was the outsider and gender bending and all style. he was much more than that. he was a hugely talented musician and he was ridiculously productive. he wasn t a freak. he was a monster of creative output who delivered the goods. without that he would be a poser seeking attention. he was substance over style.
