Covid: Allahabad High Court raps Yogi govt for hiding facts about treatment facilities and death toll

Allahabad High Court has rapped the Yogi Adityanath government for hiding key facts about Covid treatment facilities and the number of deaths, and failing to comply with earlier orders on furnishing hospitals with life-saving equipment and drugs. “Neither required information as mandated by our order has been given nor, otherwise, compliance has been made (with) our various directions,” the bench of Justices Siddharth Varma and Ajit Kumar observed on Tuesday, reacting to an affidavit filed by Uttar Pradesh home secretary Badugu Deva Paulson. The observations, uploaded on the court website on Wednesday, came during the hearing of a public interest plea. Some of the court’s observations:

Image Source: IANS News Prayagraj : , May 13 (IANS) The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to constitute a three-member Pandemic Public Grievance Committee (PPGC) in every district to look into the grievances of the public in Covid treatment in the state. The panel would comprise one chief judicial magistrate (CJM) or a judicial officer, professor of a medical college and an administrative officer of the rank of additional district magistrate (ADM). The court, in its order on Tuesday, further directed that in rural areas complaints can be made directly to the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of concerned tehsil, who shall transmit the same to PPGC. The committee will also look into all the viral news itself.

Prayagraj: The Allahabad high court on Tuesday directed the Uttar Pradesh government to constitute, within 48 hours, a three-member Pandemic Public Grievance Committee (PPGC) in every district comprising one chief judicial magistrate (CJM) or a judicial officer, professor of a medical college and an administrative officer of the rank of additional district magistrate (ADM) to look into the grievances of the public with regards to difficulties faced in Covid treatment in the state. The court further directed that in rural areas complaints can be made directly to the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of concerned tehsil, who shall transmit the same to PPGC. Allahabad high court PRAYAGRAJ: The Allahabad high court on Tuesday directed the Uttar Pradesh government to constitute a three-member Pandemic Public Grievance Committee (PPGC) within 48 hours in every district to look into the grievances of the public on difficulties faced in Covid treatment in the state. The committee should comprise a chief judicial magistrate (CJM) or a judicial officer, professor of a medical college and an administrative officer of the rank of ADM, the court said. The court further directed that complaints be made directly to the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of tehsil concerned in rural areas, who will apprise the PPGC.
