705 Growing public outcry against the publishing and sale of some History textbooks for primary schools has deepened, with calls not just for the immediate withdrawal of the books but also investigations and a possible ban of the publishers for such a dangerous act. A number of groups and organisations have called for the immediate withdrawal of the books, with some describing the content as bigotry which fan ethnocentric sentiments and downright insult to particularly the people of the Volta Region. The Minority in Parliament yesterday added its voice to the concern and filed an urgent parliamentary question requesting the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, to appear before the House to respond to the two incendiary publications that had caused outrage among some Ghanaians.
