Kuala Lumpur: The High Court here granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) to former director-general of the Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation (MEIO) Datuk Hasanah Abdul Hamid, in her criminal breach of trust (CBT) trial involving US$12.1 million (RM50.4 million) belonging to the Malaysian government, three years ago.
Judge Datuk Ahmad Shahrir Mohd Salleh made the ruling after deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Muhammad Iskandar Ahmad informed the court that the prosecution had applied not to continue the case against Hasanah.

Judge Datuk Ahmad Shahrir Mohd Salleh made the ruling after deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Muhammad Iskandar Ahmad informed the court that the prosecution had applied not to continue the case against Hasanah.
“The DPP indicated that the accused (Hasanah) will be charged again in the future. The DPP also clarified the existence of a new development.
