Mushfiqur Rahim apologises to Nasum Ahmed, fans for misbehaving on the field

Wednesday, 16 December 2020 - 7:30 Mushfiqur Rahim has apologised to his Beximco Dhaka team-mate Nasum Ahmed for misbehaving with him twice during the Bangabandhu T20 Cup Eliminator against Fortune Barishal on Monday. The incident took place during the match between Beximco Dhaka and Fortune Barishal. The match moved towards a close finish as Barishal looked to chase down the total of 150 posted by Mushfiqur’s team. Dhaka eventually won by nine runs, to remain in contention for a place in the final but Rahim s behaviour with his team-mates, was bizarre according to foreign reports. When one would expect the keeper to celebrate the wicket but he was seen almost hitting the fielder after a near collision between the two while going for the catch.

Sri Lanka : Several more areas isolated with immediate effect

Dec 15, Colombo: Head of the National Operations center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak, Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva announce that several other areas in the island have been isolated with immediate effect. Accordingly, steps have been taken to isolate Thotawatte in Panadura and Badalkumbura and Alupotha areas in the Moneragala district with immediate effect. The Army Commander said that this step was taken after reports of several persons being infected with the COVID-19 virus.  

GMOA warns that COVID risk in Sri Lanka is increasing in comparison

Monday, 14 December 2020 - 13:55 Addressing the media, Government Medical Officers Association Editor Haritha Aluthge stated that in comparison with the rest of the world, the risk of coronavirus in Sri Lanka is rising. National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak stated that from the 655 patients identified yesterday (13), 444 patients were identified from the Colombo District, which is the highest group of COVID patients reported from a District. From the Gampaha District, 75 patients were identified, while 41 patients were identified from the Ampara District and 19 patients were identified from the Kalutara District. The Government Information Department stated that the remaining 90 patients were identified from the rest of the country.
