Braeswood BBQ brings Tex Mex barbecue to the ever growing Gateway District just south of the Arts District. The food truck turned restaurant was parking at Beer District Brewing in the Arts District or Bad Beat Brewing in Henderson until it opened at 1504 S. Main St., next to the upcoming Western-themed speakeasy, the Horse Trailer Hideout, and the neighborhood’s first planned sports tavern. The restaurant from chef Gerald Casas who worked at Green Valley Ranch, Lucky Foo, B&B Ristorante at the Venetian, and Caesars Palace gets its name from the Houston neighborhood where he grew up. Casas says his recipes honor his grandfather’s Tex-Mex restaurant.
