GBI charges former Coffee, Bacon deputy with aggravated sexual battery

Tony Kirkland, a deputy who was working as a bailiff at the Coffee County Courthouse at the time, has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI announced his arrest earlier today in a press release, with the Coffee County Sheriff s Office also releasing a statement regarding Kirkland s arrest.

The imprisoned leader of a criminal conspiracy in which violent criminal street gang members distributed methamphetamine and other drugs throughout south Georgia has been sentenced to nearly 40 years in federal prison. Jackie Kavaskia “Bijay” McMillan, 41, was sentenced to 444 months in federal prison, consecutive to the life sentence for murder he currently is serving at Dooly State Prison, after pleading guilty in January to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute 5 Grams or More of Methamphetamine and a Quantity of Marijuana, said David H. Estes, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. In the event that the sentence of incarceration ends, McMillan also must serve four years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

Former cop sentenced to life on kidnapping, other charges

Stan Livingston, a former law enforcement officer in Bacon and Jeff Davis counties, was convicted by a Bacon County jury on Wednesday, April 28, 2022, for kidnapping, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, battery (family violence), fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ian Sansot and Judge Dwayne Gillis presided over the proceedings.
