An Old Photo Brought Back Fun Memories of Early Days in Radio
I found an old photo that included memories of my early days in Lake Charles. Some of you may not know that when I first moved here, I programmed the former V107.5. The station had a format that is similar to my new station, Magic 92.1.
We had the Throwbacks before the term was popular, and I used to host a show called The Backyard Blues party. This is where I played blues and southern soul, and had the pleasure of interviewing artists like Sir Charles Jones, Bobby Rush, and Marvin Sease, who are pictured here in this photo. Also in this photo is former businessman and entrepreneur, Lawrence Gumbeaux Morrow, friend and former coworker, Craig Ryan, who was the man in the community, and of course, the Midday Diva Gina Cook.
