Salt Lake City leaders are bringing back an initiative aimed at helping students get to and from school safely when the new school year begins on Tuesday.
Eight years in the making, the newly constructed bridge over the Jordan River will help kids who live across the school and nearby communities to learn about nature while avoiding the busy roads.
Salt Lake City Police officers will patrol along the routes students take to and from Backman Elementary School, Mary W. Jackson Elementary School and the Horizonte Instruction and Training Center.
The Salt Lake City Police Department is partnering with the Salt Lake City School District to enhance police patrols along the routes students take to and from school.
