is a shelf what it was. we ve heard stories in the news recently about people who opposed his spending habits. people who believe in climate are being pushed out. donald trump s strongest backers are the group that loves scott pruett the most. they re rolling back regulation after regulation that has protected people, but has cost a dollar or two or some money to the oil and gas industry. scott pruett was well known for this in oklahoma and he s bringing those tactics effectively. he s been smart about destroying. his effort to truly detroit this agency that was created by a republican president. the legacy of the epa may be a bigger concern than scott pruett s spending habits in the end. david corn and jill wine-banks,
pruitt have anything to do with trying to get raises for two of his supporters in the agency where he was told no by the white house, but they found another fund to go around the white house. mr. pruitt was asked by fox news. he categorically denied it. he said he had nothing to do with it. when he found out about it, he stopped it. there are a number of officials who say they don t believe that was the true story, that he did have something to do with it. so is the president aware of this fox interview and what the epa chief said? you know, with henry? which one, ed henry? yes. it was an interesting interview. stay tuned. i do think one thing pruitt has going for him, trump likes rolling back regulation, likes rolling back things scott did, and scott pruitt has done this.
is going to weather this one out. 23 ethics issues, jason. huffington post reporting that scott pruitt right now facing at least 23 ethics issues. does this send a message in washington that anyone is safe as long as they carry out the president s agenda? no, craig. it delivers even more important message which is anyone that s safe in washington, d.c., if donald trump likes you. seriously, that s how his personal doctor can run the veterans association. if donald trump has a personal relationship with you, not just a tweet, i like michael flynn, but if he has a personal relationship with you, you are generally not going to get fired no matter what you do unless perhaps there s a domestic violence charge. and i also say this because this notion that he s going to keep pruitt on because pruitt is pursuing trump s agenda with the epa. trump doesn t really have an agenda with the epa. he s not concerned about environmental protection issues or pushing back regulation.
it s just different. the stakes are different. the questions are different and, as we saw, the follow-ups are different from people who know what they re doing. those are pretty tough follow-ups from ed-ry there. big deterrent to remove scott pruitt is that he s doing exactly what the president wants him to do. there s also a question about well, if someone needed to replace him, could they be confirmed, even in this current senate with a narrow republican majority it s uncertain. he succeeded in terms of rolling back regulation. a big friend of industry, which matters in this white house to an extent, greater than in a democratic white house. however, he has not cow dtailedo trump. in doing things like giving raises to top aides when the white house had told him not to.
listen, i think there s a lot of people around him that he trusts. like who? i m not going to start naming names. when you name names, you leave people out. he says, oh, he trusts abc but he left zyx. i m not going to start naming names. i think he trusts his staff. by and large, you guys don t like this, but i think he s done a very, very good job. look at the dash board of america since he became president. wages, economic growth. look at what s going on around the world as it relates to a reduction of violence. look at the opportunity that s being created in iran right now. look at the situation in israel. all of these things are super, super positive. he s also rolled back regulation in a way that gives some breathing room to businesses to start hiring more people. so we can talk about very rough, very energetic, sometimes dramatic people, myself included me too. that have worked in the white
