STATE Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corporation (SOGDC) and Global FCNG Inc. (GFCNG) of Japan for a gas project in the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (Sogip)
Sabah can increase its participation in the oil and gas sector by heightening investment in the development of a skilled, talented and competent workforce.
“For Sabah to move forward in the oil and gas sector, it’s vital to develop skilled, competent and well-trained human resources — this industry needs engineers, geo scientists, digital experts among others,” said Petronas Senior Vice president, Project Delivery and Technology, Bacho Pilong.
He highlighted it is in Petronas’ aspiration to see Sabah grow and reap the benefits from the energy industry, noting the company has been steadfast in its commitment to support academic excellence and technical skills development among Sabah’s youths.
