The pantry will be open weekly to all area residents Author: Maggie Wedlake (WQAD) Updated: 6:32 PM CDT June 23, 2021
MOLINE, Ill. The Islamic Center of the Quad Cities has officially opened a permanent food pantry. The Center started a weekly food drive back in March of 2020 when organizers realized an increased need for food in the community.
That food drive ran every Sunday from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, and it s not going anywhere. That drive will still happen every week in the same location.
In addition to it, the new permanent location for the food pantry will provide a more consistent place for families and residents to have access to grocery items. It will be open weekly instead of monthly, every Saturday from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
