Music 5th Mar 2021 7:46 AM Â Australian music history was made this morning when The Wiggles made their Like A Version debut on Triple J - playing a leftfield cover of Tame Impala s fuzzy stomper, Elephant. Complete with distorted guitars and key-tar solo, the iconic children s band spliced up the tune with their classic hit Fruit Salad. The band told the station that the song was difficult to learn and they had never practiced a song so much. Original members Murray and Jeff came back for the occasion, joining the current line-up of Anthony Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce and Emma Watkins.

After years of being hounded on the textline and a brief and fiery campaign from brekky hosts Bryce and Ebony, triple j has finally done it: Australia’s most iconic band, The Wiggles, will make their Like A Version debut this Friday.
OG members Murray Cook (who’s more known for his guitar shredding chops these days) and Jeff will be coming back for the occasion, joining the current line-up of Anthony Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce and Emma Watkins. “Murray Wiggle, the rock god, he’s agreed. The OG’s coming together with the current Wiggles, and we’re going to create music history with a great song on Like a Version… We can’t wait,” Field told fans in a video announcement earlier this week.
