Sending Howard Jones to prison, Judge Peter Crabtree paid tribute to the bravery of the police officers and logistics manager Steven Riley who had a gun held to his head by the robber. “I want to comment what were in all the circumstances brave actions by a number of people and in particular Mr Riley, who at the time was suffering considerable stress in his private life,” the judge said.
