Bennett Pascoe and Aimar Palma Simo were tabbed Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week while Pauline Meyer was named Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. Thursday’s announcement by the league office marks the second consecutive week Pascoe and Meyer are honored – the fourth overall time this season for Meyer.

(4/17/21) – When Arkansas State track and field’s Bennett Pascoe and Pauline Meyer toe the start line, there’s a good chance something big is about to happen. That happened Saturday at the Red Wolves Open, as both took down school records in the 1500m at the A-State Track and Field Complex. Meyer broke her second school record in as many weeks, clocking a time of 4:26.22 to win the women’s 1500m, giving her five school records to her credit.

Vandeput earned the honor after throwing a career-best 53.75m (176-4.0) to win the women’s discus throw on Saturday at the UAB Spring Invite. The senior improved on her previous best of 51.76m (169-10.0), set at the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships in Jonesboro, by nearly two full meters and moved up to third all-time in A-State history in the event.

(4/3/21) – Victory came early and often for Arkansas State track and field athletes on Saturday at the UAB Spring Invite, as Red Wolves totaled 11 event titles. In the scored meet, both the men’s and women’s teams captured event titles as well. The men won by over 40 points, totaling 194.5 points while the women recorded 139.5 points to win by 11.5 points. A-State’s distance athletes posted victories in both the men’s and women’s 5000m to open the day on the track. Pauline Meyer led a 1-2-3 finish for the Red Wolves in the women’s race, clocking a time of 16:35.13 that ranks second in school history while Sophie Leathers placed second in a collegiate-best 16:58.36 that is fourth in program history.
