Representatives of the North-East Governors’ Forum have described the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme as a critical stakeholder in the actualisation of the multibillion naira Mambila Hydro-power project.
The group, which is a fact-finding committee constituted by governors of the six states in the North-East, revealed that corps members’ potential is very strategic to the power project.
The leader of the delegation, Mijinyawa Yahaya, representing Gombe State stated this when he led other members of the group on a courtesy visit to the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim in his office in Abuja.
Other members of the delegation are Stephen Abubakar (Bauchi State); Bukar Buni (Yobe State); Ibrahim Njidda (Borno State); Mr John Yarafa (Taraba State); Babayola Toungo (Adamawa State) and the Managing Director, Hypertech, Mustapha Muhammed.
