As minister explains delay in Ogoni cleanup
The Federal Executive Council (FEC), yesterday, approved the change of scope for the construction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway from N155b to N797.2b. x
FEC also approved N10.4b for the procurement of fire fighting vehicles and equipment for the Federal Fire Service and N6b for provision of potable water in Gokana, Khana, Eleme and Tai, being the four Ogoni council areas of Rivers State.
Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola said the road, hitherto undergoing renovation, would be completely reconstructed, thereby changing the cost of the project from N155b to N797.2b.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday inaugurated two housing projects in the Surulere and Eti-Osa area, which were revived and completed by his administration.
They are 132-unit LagosHOMS projects at Iponri in Surulere area, and 84-unit Lekki Phase II housing project in Ikota, along Ajah corridor.
Sanwo-Olu named the 132-unit Iponri Housing Scheme after former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola.
The governor said the resuscitation and completion of the two housing projects testified to his government’s commitment to improving the lives of Lagosians through service delivery in the area of infrastructure.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) on Sunday mourned the death of Lagos state’s former commissioner for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Chief Enock Kolapomoye Olorunfunwa (EKO) Ajiboso, who died at the age of 68.
In brief reaction to the announcement of the ex-commissioner’s death, the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Lagos, Mr Seye Oladejo, described the death as a ”shock and unfortunate”.
Ajiboso was also a former Chairman of Agege Local Government, Chief Enoch Kolapomoye Ajiboso, reportedly died 8in the early hours on Sunday, December, 20 2020 in his hometown, Inisa, in Odo Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.
