who knew? apparently not brk p. bp. so it s on to plan b. a smaller containment dome calling it a top hat. five feet tall by four feet wide. it supposed to do a better job of staying put over the gusher. fingers crossed for plan b. we ll know about that in three days. if that doesn t work, plan c is something they re calling a junk shot, spraying bits of rubber, golf balls, and knotted rope into the well head followed by a shot of cement to plug it up. the options sound better and better. don t they? plan c, the junk one, could happen next week. the relief well, bp s last best hope. it s been drilling for a week and is ahead of schedule but they don t anticipate being done in less than three months. meanwhile, the gusher. like options a, b, and c, they never tried doing what they re doing there at the relief well at such a great depth before.
