The 26-year-old candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ijebu North Constituency 1 in Ogun State, South West Nigeria, Rasheed Kashamu, has been declared winner of the Saturday's governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission conducted governorship and House of Assembly elections on Saturday across the country. Rasheed Kashamu, son of the late Senator Buruji Kashamu polled 10,004 votes to defeat the incumbent member of the State Assembly, Sylvester Abiodun (a.k.a SLY) of the All Progressives Congress.
