Ashe Sheriff s K9s To Receive Body Armor
Ashe County Sheriff s Office K9s will be receiving body armor after a donation.
The Ashe Post and Times reports K9s William and Rhino will be getting bullet and stab protective vests after a donation from the non-profit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
According to the report, delivery is expected within eight to 10 weeks.
Ashe Sheriff B. Phil Howell said the department s goal to have a full-fledged K9 program is coming together sooner than expected due to grants and the generosity of several citizens.
Howell said the goal is to have a K9 available 24/7 for all law enforcement agencies in the county.
JEFFERSON â Sheriff B. Phil Howell recently announced that Ashe County Sheriffâs Office K9 William and K9 Rhino will receive bullet and stab protective vests thanks to a charitable donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
âBoth K9 William and K9 Rhino have proven themselves to be valuable members of our law enforcement team,â said Howell. âKnowing that, thanks to Vested Interest in K9s, theyâll now have the same type of protection that our two- legged deputies have will really bring peace of mind.â
K9 Williamâs vest will be embroidered with the sentiment âBorn to Love-Trained to Serve-Loyal Always.â K9 Rhinoâs vest will be embroidered with the sentiment âHonoring those who served and sacrificed.â Delivery is expected within eight to 10 weeks.
