Sharda hosp asked to set up 380-bed Covid unit | Noida News

Noida: Sharda Hospital that was de-notified as a Covid facility in February has now been asked to set up a 380-bed L3 unit, according to an order issued by the additional chief secretary, Amit Mohan Prasad, late on Wednesday. As per the order, if district administrations want more beds to treat Covid patients, then officials can ask hospitals to set up Covid facilities. “In case a district sees a spike, the administration can direct more hospitals to start Covid treatment after giving three days’ notice,” the order said. Dr Ajit Kumar from Sharda Hospital said currently 400 patients are undergoing treatment in the facility for various ailments. “We will evaluate the situation and start the Covid unit in a phased manner so that our patients are not disturbed. We will go for selected surgeries, unlike before when all surgeries were scheduled,” he said.

Noida/Ghaziabad: Session sites in the two cities will target inoculating at least 10,500 people on Thursday when the third phase of Covid-19 vaccinations, which the Centre began on March 1, finally sees a full rollout in UP. Ghaziabad will also aim to vaccinate 3,557 healthcare workers, who are scheduled to be administered their second dose of the Covid vaccine on Thursday. The first two hours – 9am to 11am – will exclusively cater to those who have pre-booked slots online. The rest of the day will be for walk-ins. Session sites will issue tokens to track the queue.

Doctors said the move to train post-graduate ayurveda practitioners in 58 surgical procedures will be detrimental to the health of the public GURUGRAM/NOIDA: OPD services at many private and state-run facilities were hit across the National Capital Region (NCR) and several cities across the country as doctors lent support to the Indian Medical Association’s nationwide strike against the Centre’s move to allow post-graduate ayurveda practitioners to be trained to perform surgical procedures. The IMA said nearly 3.5 lakh doctors across the country withdrew OPD as well as non-emergency and non-Covid services during the 12-hour strike from 6am to 6pm.
