Hello: Cameron Brandt

We're all talking 2024 but today is the later signing day for 2023 and Michigan won't come away empty-handed, as DE/DT Cameron Brandt announced his flip from a Stanford commitment. Brandt was close to signing with the Cardinal last December, but held off due to David Shaw stepping down. Michigan, who got involved last summer when Brandt's stock was rising, quickly moved back in, got him on campus for a visit, and closed the deal just before the dead period. Let's see what they've won. 2023 defensive depth chart for Michigan football, January edition

27 Tickets to Team 144: Post-Bowl Edition

Michigan's NFL draft decisions all seem to be in. Cornelius Johnson, Michael Barrett, and Kris Jenkins confirmed they're returning. So did Jim Harbaugh. Seems like a good day to check in on the state of the football roster. What is this? Folks who cover the USMNT drop lists like this projecting the 23 guys who end up on the next World Cup team. Brian appropriated it, dropped it for a few years, and then I stole it from him. Regarding the number of tickets: typically its’ 22 starters on offense and defense + 2 kickers + a Flex TE/Slot + nickel + extra DL. This year we have a K/P so I used the extra spot on a 6th OL. Previously: Spring 2022, Post-Bowl 2022. DEPARTURES IN ORDER OF SIGNIFICANCE 1. C Olu Oluwatimi (out of eligibility). Won Outland and Rimington Awards, centered Joe Moore-winning OL. 2. DE Mike Morris (NFL). Only DL who could get solid pass-rush. Great run defender. Badly hampered/missed after rolled ankle late vs Nebraska. 3. NT Mazi Smith (NFL). Stalwart nose,

The 2024 Recruiting Board

This is our sticky recruiting board for 2024. When Alex or I finish a major update, it will be reposted to the top of the site. Otherwise it will be under the "Useful Stuff" tab. We'll try to update it whenever a recruiting update is published, but expect just two or three repostings over the course of the cycle. January 2023 (launch): Our annual exercise is less useful than normal because of the unknowns around Michigan recruiting. A year from now their NIL program could be as competitive as any in the country, with their coaching situation solidified for the foreseeable future and the program coming off another championship and playoff run. They could also be back where they were for the start of the 2023 class, with all of the momentum of their recent success at a standstill while Harbaugh interviews for NFL jobs. That's where they are now, though the read on that situation is the smoke is all coming from Harbaugh's agent to pressure Michigan into a new cont
