The Northeast Region of the Scholastic Writing Competition has named six eighth-grade students from Edgecomb’s Center for Teaching and Learning as recipients of its 2021 awards for excellence in writing. Several of the students won multiple prizes for submissions in different genres.
Freida Camacho of Brunswick, Isabelle Eaton-Neubert of Alna, Kestrel Linehan of Westport Island, and Sophia Scott of Boothbay received the regional competition’s highest honors, Gold Keys, for their poetry (Camacho and Linehan) and memoirs (Eaton-Neubert and Scott). Their work will be submitted for judging at the national level.
