Students at St Gabriel s RC High School after completing their British Sign Language Course STUDENTS at a Bury school have been praised for their efforts in learning sign language. More people in the UK speak British Sign Language (BSL) than speak a modern foreign language and its popularity as a subject is growing at St Gabriel s Roman Catholic High School. Led by an external consultant, many pupils are taking advantage of the opportunity to learn something beyond the traditional curriculum at the school on Bridge Road. Headteacher, Lisa Corrigan, said: Here at St Gabriel’s, we have offered BSL to students over the past academic year.
