Court Files Latest: Couple allegedly forced boy to eat excrement
A couple have appeared in court facing an attempted murder charge after a child relieved himself outside the gate of their home.
A Komani couple has appeared at the Queenstown Magistrates Court in the Eastern Cape after allegedly forcing a 12-year-old boy to eat his own faeces.
The couple, Asanda Mkoko, 39, and Ayabulela Yolanda Buso, 28, has been charged with attempted murder, child abuse and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson, Anelisa Ngcakani, said the state had alleged in court that on Saturday 5 June 2021, a 12-year-old boy was playing together with his friends at Nkululekweni Township in Komani (Queenstown) when he suddenly had an urge to relieve himself.

A couple has been arrested for allegedly feeding a boy faeces after catching him relieving himself in front of their home.
The disturbing incident happened in Nkululekweni Township in Komani on Saturday afternoon.
The couple are scheduled to appear in the Komani Magistrate s Court on Wednesday.
Police have arrested an Eastern Cape couple for allegedly assaulting a boy they caught relieving himself in front of their gate, and forcing him to eat his own faeces.
Asanda Mkoko, 39, and Ayabulela Yolanda Buso, 28, were arrested at their Nkululekweni Township home in Komani on Sunday evening.
The two appeared in the Queenstown Magistrate s Court on Wednesday facing charges of attempted murder, child abuse and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, said the NPA in a statement.

CAPE TOWN - A couple who allegedly forced a 12-year-old boy to eat his own faeces will apply for bail next week Tuesday.
Asanda Mkoko and Ayabulela Yolanda Buso appeared at the Queenstown Magistrates Court in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday on charges of attempted murder, child abuse and assault.
They were arrested on Monday.
It s understood the 12-year-old victim and a friend were playing in the Nkululekweni township in Komani on Saturday when he had to relieve himself.
