When the students advancing from the Region IV Spelling Bee to the state bee were announced earlier this month, Roosevelt Elementary School student Axel Stanley was among them. The Detroit Lakes 5th grader did not take the Region IV title, but he did well enough to advance to the Multi-Region State Spelling Bee set for this Thursday, Feb. 24 (rescheduled from Feb. 22) at Lakes Country Service Cooperative in Fergus Falls.
