Oklahoma Association of Realtors President Ousted

On Wednesday, Inman received an anonymous tip that the Association’s president had been impeached for “slurs.” Axay Parekh | Credit: Oklahoma Association of Realtors A member of the board who wished to remain anonymous confirmed to Inman later that day that Parekh had indeed been removed from office for “cause” and in accordance with the Association’s bylaws. They did not elaborate on the exact cause of Parekh’s removal, but noted that the special meeting was called to order specifically to determine whether or not he would remain in office. The notification sent out to all Association members noted that, due to a constraint in the bylaws, once a president of OAR is removed from office, they become Immediate Past President, a “bylaws-structured role on the Leadership Team and Executive Committee.”

Eviction Moratorium Ending Soon: Resources To Help You

By: Tevis Hillis The nation is facing an eviction crisis and Oklahoma is no exception. Community Cares Partners is a local organization here to help if you are on the verge of being evicted. That moratorium ends March 31 as nearly 30,000 evictions are filed in the state. That means thousands of Oklahoma families are on the verge of homelessness. And while many have not been evicted yet, their rent is still racking up.   It doesn t wipe out rent that is owed. It just means people cannot be evicted because of this pandemic that is happening, said Axay Parekh, President of the Oklahoma Association of Realtors. It has been a double-pronged problem.

Eviction Moratorium Expected To Conclude At End Of March

By: Tevis Hillis OKLAHOMA CITY - The eviction moratorium is set to expire on March 31 with the issue of leaving thousands of Oklahomans without a roof over their heads. It has been a double-pronged problem because people that owe rent are to people that owe one or two rental homes using it as retirement money. They haven t been paid rent either, Oklahoma Association of Realtors president Axay Parekh said. The problem has renters building debt while landlords are waiting to pay their own bills as the eviction date looms. Approximately $210 million from the CARES Act is going to Oklahomans who need help paying their rent.
