DIMAPUR Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan on Thursday said basic services like education, healthcare, drinking water and financial institutions must be made available at the doorstep of the citizens, especially the down-trodden people. Towards this end, the governor urged the officers of the various departments to ensure that the government’s flagship programmes pertaining to basic services are “diligently implemented for the welfare of the people”. Ganesan was addressing an interactive meeting of heads of offices and leaders of civil society organisations of Mokokchung district at DC conference hall, on his maiden visit to the district, an update from DIPR stated. He also requested the deputy commissioner to have periodic review of the implementation of the various schemes and programmes in the district and to take necessary action, if there are any shortfall, to meet the goals and target.
