DGP Visits Anantnag; Chairs security review meeting with Police, Army, CRPF officers Eliminating top militant commanders will give respite to common people: DGP
JAMMU: Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh visited South Kashmir’s Anantnag district where he chaired a security review meeting with the senior officers of Army, CRPF and Police. He was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar.
On the onset of the meeting, the DGP complimented the police and security forces for their untiring efforts while eliminating the dreaded top militants commanders in the recent times thus providing huge respite to the common people. He praised the police and security forces for successful anti-militancy operations in their respective areas. He said that the killing of Al Badr, LeT and JeM commanders will definitely help in saving the lives of commoners as also the lives and careers of number of our
Pampore: The Jammu and Kashmir Police along with Civil Society members, youth and Students carried out a joint anti- drug abuses rally at Saffron town Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
The rally was organized by district police Awantipora. The students and youth holding banners and shouting slogans took part in large numbers and held a road show by walking from the Police station through various roads of the town.
The rally was a part of on-going anti drug week which is being observed from 15 to 22 December of the current year.
SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO Pampore, Manzoor Ahmad and Sub Inspector Adil Ahmad held a detailed interaction with the civil society members, students and youth at police station Pampore before taking out the rally.
An electric transformer was also partially damaged because of the explosion.
The injured CRPF man has been identified as Patil Parmakar of 40 Bn of CRPF. He was immediately rushed to the Sub-District Hospital Bijbehara and was being treated there.
“He is stable. Has some minor injuries and is being looked after,” a doctor at the hospital said.
The attack took place at about half past noon near the SDH along old National Highway in Bijbehara town.
“CRPF men remain on duty outside the hospital and were targeted by the militants. The grenade missed the intended target and hit an electric transformer, while a splinter hit a CRPF man on duty as well,” a senior police official from the area said.
