A potential goldmine for those who want to pick in Hawke s Bay orchards this autumn awaits, as growers dangle the carrot to get workers. Orchards have struggled to get workers this year because of the lack of RSE workers and backpackers currently in New Zealand due to Covid-19 border restrictions.
Wairarapa rateable home values record 50 per cent jump

News of another huge rise in property s rateable values awaits many Wairarapa home owners next week.
Homes throughout Carterton, Masterton, and South Wairarapa districts have seen another giant leap in rateable values, after jumps in 2017 and 2014.
The ratings were expected late last year but delayed due to changes in the auditing process.
The average value of a home in Masterton rose by 47.3 per cent, to $498,291.

Across the Waingawa, the average Carterton house value rose by 37.3 per cent, to $523,149.
The average value of a house in South Wairarapa s three towns is now $631,357, an increase of 40.4 per cent over the past three years.

1. Will Ayala Pharma s Tenacity Pay Off?
Ayala Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AYLA) has dosed the first patient in its phase II clinical trial of AL101 for the treatment of patients with Notch-activated recurrent or metastatic (R/M) triple negative breast cancer.
The trial, dubbed TENACITY, is expected to initially enroll up to 26 patients with Notch-activated R/M TNBC whose disease has recurred or progressed after three or fewer lines of prior therapy. The preliminary data from the trial is expected to be reported by the end of 2021.
