he says this is simple. scott brown is a good friend from massachusetts, served in the legislature when he was governor and running for senator in new hampshire, romney very popular in new hampshire, trying to help him out. a new poll out that says some people have buyers remorse. i think some of the donors don t want to say no for an answer, want romney to run for a third time. when his own people are saying on the record, maybe he should do this again the governor says no, no, no. who are we to believe? i believe the governor. the second that the governor started saying maybe, maybe, maybe, a lot of donors would say, no, not so much. i think there s some level of post-2012 therapy. therapy. people who supported him. i think that there are a lot of romney actual romney people who love him, believe in him and think he should have won, but i don t think there is a big cry from donors overall to have him fill what is ultimately a void in the establishment side. hand how about
quoting johnson saying probably after both the civil rights act and the voting rights act in 1965 that the cost of this would be to lose the south to the democrats. 19 1968 the union that wept for john kennedy by more than any other was georgia, upwards of 60%. and those were white voters who were voting for kennedy because they wanted segregation. that s how big a change this was. so the result was that johnson knew that, yes, the democrats would lose the south. he said for a generation, it s still going on as you said tonight. he was probably overly optimistic. johnson hoped that the result of the voting rights act you would get so many voteers that ultimately they would help to overcome that and the democrats would be on equal turf in the south and that hasn t happened yet. how did lbj himself react to the aspects of backlash that
polling locations and different counties and we are certainly hearing about those ang good signs but young people have a lot at state. they care about the future of this country, whonded the war in iraq, who ended don t ask, don t tell , and that is why they will come out for the president in droves. shepard: ohio is important and if you win by more than 100,000 vote, the provisional ballots are not as important and it could not be drain out process. what do you hear from the state of ohio? we hear good things. we hear there are long lines and we encourage people to stay. if you are in line when the poll close, stay in line. this is a state that mitt romney and paul ryan have never been able to crack. their message to the middle class voteers in the state, it is not working and they went back there today as a last ditch hail mary effort but we feel confident the people of ohio
continued to fight against taxes going up on anyone. we will continue that because that, really, raising taxes right now on this economy is not the answer. it is now how we get people back to work or how we grow the economy and see the capital being deployed. that has to be our focus. i believe the voteers here in the commonwealth do know this election is about taxes. that is why i believe the small business people, the hard working families of virginia, will turn out and elect mitt romney because he is the one who is saying we ought not be raising taxes on anyone right new in this difficult economy. neil: congressman, thank you very much. whoever wins tonight, majority leader con tore will be a major power player. the state could set the tone for the night at some of the first polls in the nation closing there, and it is amazing the key number of states that close at
the president needs to tell us what he knew, what he did, particularly during the attack. can they make that stick as a campaign issue? juan: they are trying to. this is in intervening event that shifts the dynamics of the race and they are look to this tragedy. at what point do people think that they are politicizing a tragedy or trying to exploit it. that would be the down side. but this are very few voteers last out there and the polls do thought indicate that this is an issue that is moving anyone. can you have statements about people saying this concerns me and worries me, but when you hear from the director of national intelligence, or you hear from leon panetta, you have to have more information in real time you understand this is a difficult situation and to start saying it was this person s fault or we speculate about that i am not sure it has the power to shift the dynamics. chris: let me pick up on
