Students, staff and alumni from Coláiste Bhríde in Carnew are rejoicing after they received initial permission from Wicklow County Council to construct a new school campus that will provide a suite of new facilities for 1,000 students.
After receiving a request for funding from Arklow CBS for their German twinning exchange programme, elected councillors have decided to extend an invitation to take part in the project to all post-primary schools in the district.
Arklow CBS recently welcomed over 200 prospective students to their open day, where the post-primary proudly displayed their approved plans for a new school, which will significantly increase capacity and provide a suite of new facilities.
After a decade of planning, St Kevin’s Community College in Dunlavin has received permission to construct a new school campus that will see the capacity at the secondary school increase from 700 to 1,000 students.
