A U.S. senator from Vermont known for his cozy mittens will purchase Zenith Bookstore, with a plan to stick it to Amazon head Jeff Bezos, the popular West Duluth business announced Thursday morning in a newsletter teeming with exclamation points.
This news comes, not-so-coincidentally, on April Fools Day. What better than an independent bookstore dedicated to progressive social issues to counter the corporate greed and inequity displayed by Amazon, according to the message that went out to patrons. Sanders was particularly taken by the Duluth store s funky socks merchandise and plans to introduce a new line of mittens, which will be perfect for the Northland.
