Fleet Master Chief James “Smitty” Tocorzic is a native of Shinnston, West Virginia and a 1989 graduate of Lincoln High School in Shinnston, West Virginia. He entered the Navy through the Delayed Entry Program and arrived for basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes in December 1989.
Following Recruit Training, Naval Aircrew Candidate School and Aviation Structural Mechanic (AMS) “A” School, he reported to VP-30 in Jacksonville, Florida. During this tour he was designated as a naval aircrewman and completed the Flight Engineer Apprentice Program. He then transferred and qualified as a P-3 flight engineer with the “Fighting

Ray Doyle Head, age 38, (really 83) lol, but anyone who knew him will get why he was not a typical 83 year old. Ray decided on May 9, to cruise away peacefully from his earthly home in Loris to his Heavenly home because he deserved to finally live on streets paved with gold.
Before he left he was able to say goodbye to his two loving daughters, Linda Doyle and Ann Tyler Price and his son-in-law Ricky Doyle. They begged him to stay but he was tired of fighting the war against cancer. He was a true fighter and civilians would better know him as, “Bird Man”.

But a new recruit soon finds that water isn’t the bane of a Sailor, it is fire. Fire causes smoke, making it difficult to see and to breathe. It is fire that can destroy your home away from home. It is fire which can cause an entire ship’s crew to respond as if their lives depend on it, either in port, at sea, beneath the surface of the sea in a submarine or even in the air on one of the many Navy airplanes.
