Chandigarh: More than four lakh poultry birds died in a month in Haryana due to H5N8 virus, avian influenza, confirmed Haryana Minister JP Dalal on Friday.
While speaking to media, the Animal Husbandry & Dairying Fisheries Minister said that samples from different poultry farms were sent to Bhopal following the unusual death of more than four lakh chickens in a month.
Out of the total samples sent, two of them tested positive for H5N8 virus, a type of avian influenza, he added.
