Badi, 48, was concerned about what would happen if there were side effects from the dose while she was fasting during daytime hours a key part of the annual Muslim ritual.
After speaking with a doctor, Badi is going ahead with her second shot in the coming weeks but supports recent calls for the city to expand the number of 24/7 vaccine sites to accommodate Muslims who will be abstaining from food and water from April 12 through May 12.

The head of New York state s vaccination rollout Larry Schwartz made personal calls to county executives asking about their support for Governor Andrew Cuomo as the state s top Democrats continue to call for his resignation, according to reports from the Washington Post and the New York Times on Sunday.
The phone calls alarmed at least one county executive so much that the official filed a complaint to New York State Attorney General Letitia James s office, according to both reports.
