Bowhunters host 3-D shoot: Cherokee Bowhunters archery club will host a 3-D shoot Saturday at the Fort Crowder Conservation Area archery range east of Neosho, Mo. Contestants may start the course anytime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Entry fee is $12 for nonmembers.

NWA outdoors: Choices abound to bird, bike, hike, volunteer in the outdoors

Pull plants at Logan Springs: The Ozark Society Sugar Creek chapter is partnering with the Nature Conservancy at Logan Springs Preserve in Benton County for a work day, picnic and hike at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Invasive plant removal will take place followed by lunch at the spring, lake or pond. Volunteers should bring lunch, water and work gloves.

NWA outdoors: Volunteers sought to help spruce up parks, trails

Hikers trek Homestead Trail: Hill N Dale Hiking Club will hike Thursday the Hedges Homestead Trail in the Buffalo River area. This can be either a 4.8 mile out and back or the return hike can be a bushwhack along the river, making it a loop hike. This bushwhack is a little shorter route, but involves some difficult boulder scrambling and climbing through a couple of ravines.

The 2022 NWA Wetland Ecology Tour, hosted annually by the south-central chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists, will be held Saturday at Wilson Springs Preserve in Fayetteville. There will be hikes led by local experts in botany, ornithology, herpetology, and aquatic ecology.
