New York, N.Y. (January 16, 2024) - As we seem to say in every New York year-end recap, 2023 has been a year full of changes in labor and employment law in the Empire State.
Under a recently enacted change in Massachusetts' Paid Family and Medical Leave law, beginning November 1, 2023, employees receiving PFML benefits will be permitted to supplement, or "top off," their weekly benefit using accrued paid leave .
The Massachusetts Department of Family and Medical Leave continues to issue, update, and consolidate guidance on the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Act. The DFML also has provided a brief guidance on bonuses.
