Avera Medical Group Granite Falls in Granite Falls, Minn. will offer Saturday walk-in clinic services beginning Feb. 5. Hours will be 9 a.m. to noon each Saturday. The walk-in clinic will be located in the East Clinic on the Avera Granite Falls campus located at 345 10th Ave.

COTTONWOOD Â One young person died and five more were injured in separate accidents reported over the weekend in Lyon and Yellow Medicine Counties, area law enforcement said.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an ATV crash reported Saturday afternoon in Stanley Township. The operator of the ATV was identified as Parker Viaene of rural Cottonwood. Viaene was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A total of five young men were also injured at a bonfire in rural Granite Falls over the weekend, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office said. Three of the injured people, ages 18, 20 and 20, were airlifted for burn treatment.

Redwood Falls Second Graders Aiyana Anderson, Lori Anderson, Carly Anderson, and Aiyana’s Redwood Falls recently lent a helping hand to Avera Granite Falls Health. Lori and Aiyana worked with Thrivent on a grant named, “Health snacks for those that keep giving back!” Aiyana and her classmates also colored pictures and thank you cards for the staff in the hospital and clinic.
Lori explains the goal of the grant is to provide healthy snacks to those that may not have time to prepare a healthy meal at work. She also explains the long term goal of the project is for other area businesses to refill the bins for the staff at the hospital and clinic. According to the hospital, staff have been enjoying the snacks and pictures.
