Attest to, we had a really interesting policy Committee Meeting on these issues. And we wanted to ask cyndy our Climate Program manager to give you a brief outline of what was discussed not nearly in the same level of detail. But as lowell said, when you look at our where weve got emissions coming out, its pretty clear theres not a lot of mystery here. Our buildings are a big part of the story. And where those emissions are coming from, cyndy will talk a little bit about that. But more and more, they are coming from natural gas. And while we will be developing a Climate Action strategy that you will hear a lot more about for 2020, we dont wait for that to be finished before we adopt policies along the way. And theres a particular moment in time now that is very important because the Building Code gets updated on a threeyear cycle. And we are and that starts now in 2019, the new cycle. So we wanted to weigh in to be in alignment with that statewide cycle. And im going to let cyndy take
This journey is not something that happened overnight. Throughout this process, i spent many weeks away from the city, spent many nights working 12hour days, doing my come and coming back just in time to get to class. By the time i finished Elementary School i saw the beast of poverty. I ran out of fingers to count the youth in my community that lost their lives to gun violence. The club made sure to stay open the nights of shootings, making it so we would have a caring and dependable place to go when it wasnt safe to go home. The club gave me a place where i could be my authentic self. The club showed me the power of a good education and encouraged me to go into private school. It wasnt easy. I found my sense of self slipping away as i switched between environments, but i could always find myself back at the club, a place i didnt have to alter who i was. Every tragedy and piece of divert that i went through in my community, the club was right there to help me through it. When everythi
A change in ownership means that the property has a new zoner. Maybe through a new owner. Maybe through a sale, a gift or adding or dropping names through title. At that time the home will be assessed a new market rate. That value becomes a new starting point for the property. Just like before, the Growth Continues to be limited at 2 until the next transfer happens. Remember, the new owners are responsible for paying taxes at the new level from the first day that they own it. Value might also be added when construction happens on your property. That would be another instance when growth in your value might exceed 2 . Here, we would add the value of construction on top of your existing prop 13 value. Every july, well let you know what your assessed value is by sending you a letter called a notice of assessed value. You can use that information to estimate your property taxes early. Please note that a separate office called the treasurer Tax Collectors Office will send you a letter in oc
Expand to residential as well . The e. V. Readiness would cover some of those properties that you mentioned that are in the planning or entitlement or yet to be built phase. So when theyre built, they will be e. V. Ready. That will take care of all New Buildings going forward. The existing multifamily unit dwellings, thats still a challenge. We started with the e. V. Readiness ordinance. Were now working on this initiative for private sector garages. Weve done the same for our municipal garages. So that is a bit of the next frontier. Its something weve been looking at, but its challenging from a infrastructure and cost perspective, but its still something were working on. Because the need for charging as we transition the entire fleet is going to continue to grow. Were on step 2 or 3 here and there is a few more after that. Supervisor peskin i look forward to having those conversations with you and your office going forward. Any questions, supervisor safai . Supervisor safai yes, thank
Underserved but the overserved community district, historical district in this city and promote our Small Businesses, promote our young men, our children that deserve too b to a community looked up to and revered across the nation and the world. So i do approve of this. Any other commissioners . Hearing none and seeing none. So first i would like to say thank you to reverend walker for speaking today as a church thats been in the community, helping people, especially single mothers. I was very happy to see that five points make sure that they preserve the Childcare Center which anchors a lot of residents from Alice Griffith and throughout bayview using that center for their children because there arent many childcare facilities in the neighborhood and also his work and his churchs work in building housing for the community, as well, especially seniors. I want to say thank you to kimberly hillbrown for her comments about the fact that Candlestick Park has had on residents and the commun
