Reciprocate govt’s kind gesture- Yao Letsa

Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, on Tuesday called on the people of Avenor Traditional Area to reciprocate the government’s contributions to the area to justify the continuous trust reposed in them.
He said the government’s assistance to the area include the creation of a traditional Council and the elevation of the area to a municipal status.
Dr Letsa said this when Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, Paramount Chief and President of the Avenor Traditional Council and Chiefs from the area paid a courtesy call to him at the Regional Coordinating Council to congratulate the minister on (VRCC) his re-appointment.
Akatsi South: Residents raised funds to support accident victims

Residents of Akatsi South and its surrounding towns in the Volta region have raised thousands of Ghana cedis through a local based radio Kaleawo FM to help Ernest Adabla, a 15 year old pupil of Kingship Knowledge Academy who was hit by an over speeding vehicle at Akatsi District Assembly road some three weeks ago.
Ernest, had his two legs fractured with varying degree of injuries whilst his motor rider, Kobby Tugbah, who also sustained severe injuries on different parts of his body.
Both victims were rushed to the Akatsi Municipal Hospital before little Ernest was later transferred to the Ho teaching hospital for further medical attention.

Mr Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament (MP) for Akatsi South has said Chiefs are well-positioned to support in stemming the spread of the coronavirus disease.
He said communities must receive adequate knowledge about the dangers associated in contracting the virus and the necessity to adhere to the safety protocols.
Mr Ahiafor made the appeal during a meeting of Chiefs from the Avenor Traditional Area on Saturday at the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly Hall.
The meeting, which was under the tutelage of Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, Paramount Chief and President of Avenor Traditional Council, sought to discuss the various ways Chiefs could play the crucial role to actively engage in educating their subjects from their various areas of jurisdiction on the need to practice safety in safeguarding the disease from further spread.
